Weekend in Amsterdam.

Living in England, or anywhere in Europe, we can travel to so many great destinations, and for dirt cheap as well. EasyJet has some incredibly cheap tickets to different destinations. There are also so many different companies that can get you to your desired travel destination, for really cheap.

I went to Amsterdam for the first time in summer 2017, however, I was only there for one day as my flight stopped over for a few hours so I was able to go out into the city. For those who follow my Instagram and have read my blog for a while, you will know that I was extremely lucky and got to go to the Anne Frank museum since someone had an extra ticket and was trying to sell it. During that day I didn't experience a lot of Amsterdam, but it was still a really nice day.

The second time I went to Amsterdam, it was for a weekend for my best friends' birthdays in December. There was 8 of us, and we did quite a few cool things.

Where We Stayed.

Motel-One in Amsterdam was where we stayed. It's not too far away from the centre, and it is easy to navigate around with the public transports. The one where we stayed at was on Europaboulevard.
Since we booked the hotel very close to New Year, prices were quite high, and if you are on a tight budget, there are many different options in Amsterdam for you, including hostels, and AirBnb.

Where We Ate.

One place we were extremely lucky to get a table straight away was at the Avocado Show. There was 8 of us, and we were able to get a table without waiting. However, that was just luck, and if you want to ensure you get a table, book in advance. By the time we left, there was a massive queue outside.
If you haven't heard of the Avocado Show, it is an all avocado restaurant and is the only one in the world. This restaurant is also quite pricey, but if you are a lover of avocados, you need to come here!

Another restaurant totally worth visiting is Golden Temple, and it is an Indian restaurant that is completely vegetarian! The food is delicious, affordable, and the interior is beautiful. The whole atmosphere, makes you feel like you are at a family members house, waiting for a homemade meal.

Red Light District.

Probably one of the most famous districts of Amsterdam, and a popular tourist destination, I could not leave this one out. Going through the street, it is a very bizarre feeling. Although I feel like the legalisation of prostitution is a good idea, because it keeps all parties safe, there was something about seeing a woman or man in a window. It felt odd walking around and looking at these people, being objectified, and sexualised, because that is their job. Although it made me feel a bit uneasy because I felt bad for these people, we did witness a woman telling some guys that were looking at her to go away, it 's good to see that they are able to turn away people, and they are in a safe environment.
This is definitely a bizarre experience, however I recommend everyone to visit it at least once in their life.

Flower Market.

My favourite flower is a tulip, so the Netherlands ais an amazing place to be when tulips are in bloom. If you adore flowers, the flower market is the place for you. Even if you don't buy anything (although, believe me, you will) it's just a great place to look around. The whole market has thousands of flowers. Also known as Bloemenmarkt, it is the worlds only floating flower market and was founded in 1862.
