Back To School Lookbook.
Fashion Inspo.
Every year, before school, I always have this image of myself of what I’ll be like during the year. I always think of myself as being organised, never skipping class, having amazing outfits each day, etc. But it never works out that way. Even on the first day, I am more than likely to wear some jeans, boots, a t-shirt and hoodie, with my hair up. Even though I always want to look pretty and not just super lazy... As the year goes on, I look more like a homeless person trying to find cover in the school rather than an actual student.
It probably will be the exact same story this year, but I am adamant to try my hardest in becoming the person in my head.
My fashion consists of mostly “comfortable-wear” but I do wish I had the nerve and confidence (and money) to wear beautiful clothes. Every time I get dressed, I want to wear a skirt or something pretty, and while I’m inside I feel confident. As soon as I walk out my front door, however, I start getting nervous and wanting to go back and change. Which isn’t how anyone should feel. Confidence is so difficult to attain, and I envy those who are able to walk out the house, and looking confident.
I usually find it easier to dress nicely if I see someone out in public or on social media wearing something similar that I may own, and that would be where I get my “inspiration” from. If you’re like me, then I have some outfits prepared for you, for the first week of school, hope you enjoy!
Day 1:
Whether you start on a Monday, or whichever day, the first day is the day you make an impression. I'm one of those people that doesn't wear makeup because I'd rather people be surprised when I do occasionally wear makeup and look "pretty" than people asking me if I'm ill when I don;t. So first impressions to me, aren't a big deal. However, saying that, I do like making a good first impression in some situations (where it's important). College, isn't an important place for first impressions.
This look is for the first day, it isn't too "overdone" and it hasn't yet shown my fellow classmates, of how lazy I am.
Denim Jacket: ZAFUL £32
T-shirt: Hollister £13.99 (On Sale!)
Jeggings: www.mycentsofstyle.com £31
Backpack: Herschel Supply Co. £45
Shoes: Saint Laurent £629
The shoes I've chosen are (VERY) expensive but you can get similar ones from cheaper stores like Primark, New Look, H&M, etc.
I thought this look is really nice for the first day, for me it would mean I'd still look nice but not out of my comfort zone, which on the first day back at college, I'm already uncomfortable.
Day 2:
This outfit is, in my opinion, very cute, summery, and fashionable. As soon as I saw the leather jacket, I fell in love with it, and now I'm going to have to save up to buy it because it is beautiful.
This is something else I'd wear, if I had the confidence and the funds.
Since the weather is so unpredictable in England, in September it can be either raining or really hot and sunny. With the shorts, if it is cold, add some tights, they can be plain or to make the outfit look even more colourful and outstanding, add some colourful, or jazzy tights.
Hat: cuyana.com £73
T-shirt: tibi.com £110
Shorts: boohoo.com £8
Leather Jacket: thewebster.us £1,270
Boots: Loeffler Randall £159.81
Backpack: accessorize.com £18
I will definitely be saving up for the rest of my life for that leather jacket. The boots, shirt, and hat, there are many other stores that will have similar items. Primark is great for t-shirts, they're very cheap and last a while.
Day 3:
I love wearing smart casual, it's a great combination of being comfortable but also looking presentable for school or work.
For this one, I chose similar clothes that I have in my wardrobe, and could realistically wear next week on my first week back to college. I like that it looks really comfortable and it's something that I could quickly grab and put on without having to make sure everything looks "just right". I don't like taking ages getting ready in the morning, I prefer sleeping, so this is a great outfit to quickly put on.
Jacket: zaful.com £25
Blouse: Isabel Marant Striped Blouse £140
Jeans: Harvey Nichols £230
Lipstick: Maybelline £4.98
Converse: surfstitch.com
Handbag: stylebop.com £1,035
Day 4:
Day 4 is more likely when you start getting to know people, and also you're already waiting for the holidays. This outfit I think is, again, quite comfy and also shows you're ready for autumn. With a pumpkin spiced latte in your hand, you're ready to start working hard.
Jumper: Mango £9.99 (50% Sale!)
Lipstick: MAC £16.50
Trousers: REDValentino £395
Sunglasses: Trouva £32
Watch: Buckle £23.57
Handbag: cuyana.com
Day 5:
For me, Day 5 will be Friday. You're finally done with your first week of school! It's time to show off an amazing outfit, that shows you're ready to go party straight after college.
I decided to choose something colourful, an outfit that'll make you stand out of the crowd in the halls. This outfit to me says that whoever can wear it, definitely has no confidence issues, and is ready, for anything.
Shirt: River Island £39
Skirt: Givenchy £380
Shoes: GAP £32
Bracelet: Halsbrook £250
Backpack: ShopBop £466
Some of the items on the list are quite expensive, but these are just suggestions and there are lots of shops now that will have similar products. Comment below if you enjoyed my blog, and would like to see more! I would love to hear from you.
