Day Trip To Exeter.

After a long time away, I am finally back and hopefully will be updating my blog more regularly.  It has been a long time since I have written anything, even though I have been traveling, mostly around Devon and Cornwall in the U.K. Since I haven't written anything for the blog in a really long time, and to be honest, I haven't been writing a lot about anything recently, I want to start off slowly. Here is my blog on a Day in Exeter!

Exeter is a beautiful city, that I didn't even think about visiting until recently when I missed travelling but funds would not permit traveling far. Therefore, I have started doing day trips around me in Devon and Cornwall, and I never realised how many beautiful towns and cities are here.
We got the train from Plymouth to Exeter, and spent the day exploring around the area. We wanted to hire City Bikes but unfortunately they weren't available when we went as they were being replaced by newer models. Maybe next time.
Walking out of the train station, we were greeted by two adorable dogs looking at us through a van window, it was an amazing start to the day for me.

While in Exeter I didn't look into a lot of history of the city, which was unusual for me as I love being able to know the history of buildings, however it was nice to just enjoy it and not knowing anything about this city.

As we were doing a cheap trip, we went to sit in the Wetherspoons called The Imperial, the last photo on the right was one of the sitting areas, I imagine sitting there during a storm is an amazing and relaxing experience. If you want to sit outside, you can see squirrels running around, and it is a beautiful area.

What I think is one of the most talked about landmarks in Exeter is the self-acclaimed "narrowest street" in the World. Parliament Street is a small street, that if you arne't looking, is very easily missed. Even though we were looking for it, we had to turn back as we completely missed it. at 25 inches at it's narrowest point, it is a landmark to see at least once in your life, but probably no more as it isn't the most exciting thing.

I wasn't able to take any photos of the cafe, but when we were walking back tot he train station we found a cafe called Board which interested us so much we decided to take the later train. The cafe has a big selection of board games, and while eating or having drinks in the cafe, you can enjoy playing a board game with your friends.

This was a very quick and spontaneous trip to Exeter, therefore we didn't do a lot, but I definitely will be coming back (when the bikes are back) and will be looking into more things to do while there. The city had a very nice, relaxing atmosphere to it.
