Book Review

Five People You Meet In Heaven

Mitch Albom is a genius. Now, I'm not really religious and I tend not to think about what happens after death, but this book is the best description of what happens to you that I have found.
The book is about an 83 year old man named Eddie, who tragically dies trying to save a little girl from a falling cart. The last thing he feels before dying is two little hands in his, but he's unsure on whether he saved her or not.
In this story, it says that every person who dies meets 5 people- who can be loved ones, someone you once passed in a street, family or a friend, it can be absolutely anyone who is waiting for you in Heaven. These 5 people tell their story to Eddie and explain to him why his life had meaning, why all his mistakes had to happen in order for him to live the life he did. All of these people also changed Eddies path forever, even if he didn't realise it at the time.
The book doesn't show Heaven as a lush Garden of Eden, but each person has a location from their life. A location where they were at their happiest.
I found the story amazing, and comforting, much more comforting than other stories of what happens to you when you pass. I recommend that everyone reads this book, you won't be disappointed.
